Seiko's and Japan's first ever diver's watch ref. 6217 (62 MAS) was made in 1965 at a time when watches with high levels of water resistance were not widely available. It incorporated an automatic mechanical caliber and delivered 150m water resistance. The watch was designed for maximum reliability and legibility in the harshest conditions and was used by the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition from 1966 to 1969.
The SLA017 is an extremely faithful recreation of this original model by Seiko. This Seiko watch comes as a full set, with its original box and papers. The watch is in very good condition, the only thing worth mentioning is a minor scratch on the side of case. It has perfect mechanical functionality.
